Settled in

I officially have all of my stuff in the house now! It took long enough...

Here's a piece of advice for any engaged person who happens to be reading this. Pack your stuff up before the wedding!!! Also, make sure you align your wedding with the termination of your previous lease agreement. I neglected to do either of these things and it turned into a major headache for everyone involved.

For the first, it feels like you're never done unpacking. We had four straight weeks of surprises coming from my old place that we still haven't found room for in the house. Some time in the next few weeks I need to root through it and toss all of the junk.

For the second thing, money is a royal pain in the butt and a tremendous source of awkward stress between friends. If all of the legal ends have been dealt with beforehand and everyone is paid up, things are great. If you bail on a rental agreement before the lease is finished, things tend to get complicated.

Thankfully for us, everything has worked out and I have managed to stay friends with my old roommates. Nic and I are well into our new life together which has been amazing every step of the way! I'm looking forward to the rest of the year!
